Have you ever noticed how wonderful having a wooden bird feeder near your house can be? They literally transform a dull lifeless garden into a colourful menagerie of singing birdlife, and in very little time. Newcomers to woodworking will often tell me that they find the prospect of building their own bird house let alone finding the right bird table design plans, to be quite daunting - trust me, there's really no need for this!
Ok most important thing first, and this is something you really need to get on top of before you do anything. Your wooden bird feeder plans MUST be of good quality - clear (not smudged), they should have accurate measurements and most importantly a list of building steps should be provided. Poor schematics can kill a project in the water (and break your heart in the process!) but when they're drawn accurately and clearly then they should be easy to read by beginner and by an expert alike. If you can get this step right then you're off on the right foot and you're well over half way there, that's a fact!
Now once you've rolled your sleeves up, the bird table construction can be done pretty easily once you've got all of your tools close by and certainly for easier models, this is just a good saw, tape measure, square and a spacious work surface. If you find the schematics tough to read at first you'll get the hang of it with a small bit of practice. Good bird house designs again, are the key - they'll let you know exactly the tools and the materials you need to get the job done.
